The Berhampur University has got the opportunity to host the 30th Central Zone Inter-University Youth Festival from November 25 to 29 at Bhanja Bihar .
Over 1,000 students representing nearly 80 universities from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Nagaland,Assam, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh would attend the festival. It would have 25 events in music, dance, literary, fine arts and theatre competitions.
BU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Deepak Kumar Beher and others said the festival was sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, GOI. The Association of Indian Universities (AIU) gave the BU an opportunity to host the festival this time.
The university has constituted 12 different committees to oversee arrangements such as reception, accommodation, catering, transport, event management and others. The university would be spruced up for the prestigious event “We are inviting eminent persons from different fields to take part in the events and encourage the students,” the Vice-Chancellor said. The state-of-art Biju Pattnaik auditorium that was completed on the BU campus would be inaugurated on the occasion.
