INTER-UNIVERSITY YOUTH FEST CONCLUDES AT BU

The five-day 30th Inter-University Central Zone Youth Festival ended on a colourful note in a friendly ambiance in

the campus of the Berhampur University on Saturday evening. The festival ‘Yuva Prativa Parva 2014’ was organised

by the Association of Indian Universities with the support of the Ministry of Skill Development, Enterprises, Youth

Affairs and Sports. Around 603 students from 22 universities had participated in 27 cultural events during the

festival.

On Saturday, the winning candidates of different events were awarded during the closing ceremony. Devi Ahalya

Vishwavidyalaya, Indore became champion by winning most of the competitions of the festival. Among other

universities, ITM Nagpur, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University of Maharashtra, Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya of

Jabalpur and Barkatullah University Bhopal won competitions in different categories.

Brahmapur MP Siddhant Mohapatra attended the concluding ceremony as chief guest, while Chhatrapur MLA

Priyanshu Pradhan, Association of Indian Universities joint secretary Dr Samson David and Madurai Kamraj

University Prof P Parmeswaran attended as guests of the ceremony.

Berhampur University Vice-Chancellor Deepak Kumar Behera suggested that the university should plan a national

inter-university youth university on the occasion of its golden jubilee ceremony in 2016.
